Welcome to Parramatta Preschool & Long Day Care we provide care and education for children aged 2 to school age. The centre ofers long day care for every family who requests an enrolment providing the limit of 29 children per day.
We are open Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 6.30pm for 50 weeks per year. The centre is closed for 2 weeks over the Christmas period and for all public holidays. The Department of Community Services licenses this centre.
Our centre is staffed by a team of at least one qualified diploma teacher, staff in training, all staff members have first aid qualifications and a certified cook.
Our centre aims to provide a home like atmosphere within a caring and stimulating environment. We endeavour to provide programs that meet the needs and interest of each child and to develop trusting and secure relationships with each child and their families.
The children are free to choose the areas of interest in which they will participate throughout the day, both as individuals and as part of a group. We believe that children learn self-discipline by being able to choose their own play activities. The staff encourages sharing and co-operating with other children. The play activities are designed to meet the overall development of your child each day.
To encourage their dramatic and expressive development the centre will provide painting, pasting, play dough, music and drama. Their cognitive development will include activities such as puzzle, blocks and construction equipment, story-telling, reading, pre-writing, science, sand and water play. Their social and emotional development will include listening and communicating skills. Their gross motor skills will include activities and outdoor experiences.

As research has proven that children learn through their play experiences, Parramatta Preschool & Long Day Care understands the importance of providing a stimulating program that caters for all learning styles, abilities, needs and interests. Programs and objectives are systematically evaluated to ensure that they are child centered, based on individual and group needs.
These are developmentally and culturally appropriate. Methods and experiences for children to have a broad spectrum of skills that attribute to school readiness development.
We focus to implement a continuous educational program which aims to build emergent skills and abilities as well as self expression and creativity.
Our programming involves a team approach where all staff and parents provide input into the overall growth and development of the whole child, where documenting and planning for children will assist staff to get to know and understand individual children.
